What everypublicholiday.com stores, what it doesn't, and your rights. Last updated 30 June 2026.
The short version
everypublicholiday.com is a free, public reference site. We do not ask you to sign up and we run no advertising. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; it sets cookies and shares aggregate usage data with Google. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Google Analytics runs only after you opt in through the cookie banner, and you can decline or change your mind at any time. We also use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics, which sets no cookies and needs no consent. A small functional note of which places you last viewed is also kept in your own browser.
Cookies and local storage
Analytics cookies. When analytics is active, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id> to tell visitors and sessions apart. They hold a randomly generated identifier, not your name. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland they are set only if you accept the banner; elsewhere they are set by default, as no opt-in is legally required there. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, your browser's cookie controls, or Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Functional local storage. To remember the countries and regions you choose, the site saves your selection in your browser's local storage under epx:lastCalendar and epx:lastCompare, and it stores your analytics choice under epx:consent. These stay on your device, are not shared with anyone, and do not identify you. You can clear them any time via "clear site data" for everypublicholiday.com in your browser settings. The site works fine without them.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless). On every page we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure performance (page views, referrers, and page-load metrics) in aggregate. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and collects nothing that identifies you individually, so it runs for all visitors and does not require consent.
Google Analytics 4. We also use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, for more detailed measurement: which pages are viewed, approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google does not store in full), and general device and browser information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we have not enabled Google's cross-site advertising features.
Legal basis for Google Analytics (EEA / UK / Switzerland): your consent, collected through the banner before any analytics cookie is set, using Google Consent Mode. Cloudflare's cookieless analytics, by contrast, needs no consent. International transfer: Google may process its data in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-US, UK, and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks, which provide the safeguard for that transfer. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes limited technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) for the time it takes to deliver pages to you and to keep the service secure and available. This happens at the network level, is not used to build a profile of you, and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Our attribution page links out to Wikipedia, Creative Commons, and other sources. Those links open in your browser only when you click them, and once you do, the destination site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over and take no responsibility for external sites.
Your rights
Aside from the pseudonymous analytics data described above, which we cannot link to you by name, we hold no personal information about you, so there is usually little for us to look up. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you rights of access, correction, erasure, objection, and to withdraw consent; if you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles give you similar rights. The simplest way to stop analytics is to decline or withdraw consent via the Cookie settings link. For anything else, contact us using the details below and we will help.
Children
This site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children. We knowingly collect no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If we add features that change how data is handled (for example advertising), we will update this page and the "last updated" date above, and adjust the consent banner accordingly, before those features go live.
